chardley cats lodge environment

environmental statement

Chardley Cats Lodge is constructed of thermally efficient timber from sustainable managed forests and is the only renewable building resource available.

We are committed to operating with consideration for the environment, both immediate and global, and will endeavour to:-

  • Recycle all packaging and materials where facilities to do so exist in South Norfolk
  • Minimise waste through re-use/imaginative recycling
  • Seek biodegradable products from sustainable resources where viable to do so e.g. cat litter, disposable food dishes
  • Use biodegradable disinfectants
  • Make efficient use of electricity by installing energy efficient lighting, light bulbs and thermostatically controlled energy efficient infra-red heaters
  • Conserve water by ensuring mains supplies are not wasted and rain water run-off from the cattery roof is collected for use in the garden
  • Buy in bulk within financial and storage constraints to minimise the use of transportation and fuel
  • Operate efficiently and considerately to minimise any impact upon the neighbourhood and ask our customers to use our services in a similarly mindful way
  • Continuously review and seek to improve our environmental performance.
